Previously worn boot?

So I got my boots today (Tan Matte Heros) and maybe it's just me but the boot on the right looks like it has some slight creasing on the side and in the toe box. I haven't tried them on yet so I'm wondering if it's that may have received a boot that was previously worn? Or is that normal and just the way the leather is supposed to look? In contrast the other boot does look completely smooth.
The right one also has a tiny hole on the side of the sole.
