Post Body

hey all, i'd seen people had some success with these...i bought the above mobo and cpu for like 100 bucks just because i saw it so cheap and also so i wouldn't have to drag my laptop back and forth and could have an audio work station that's always on, and all the peripherals are always ready to go, so i figured i'd try and get the thunderbolt connection for my antelope synergy core discrete 8.

i downloaded the drivers (had to update windows) and updated the firmware, jumped the pins on the card and disabled all the security features on the board, just to see if i could get it going, and although i can get the system to recognize the thunderbolt card and get the thunderbolt center to recognize and approve both the audio card and just a powered hub with a USB drive in t for simplicity's sake, but can't even get the thunderbolt card to read the USB drive. it just sits there.

i realize it's not a supported board, but was hoping i could get one over here, since i did a quick google and saw that people were using displayport with the card and the same motherboard. would rolling back the firmware help? flashing the phantom mobo bios to the non-phantom version? getting the 1.0 or earlier AIC? just tossing out some ideas. it's not the end of the world if i can't get it going, USB is working fine, but the interface has extra features over thunderbolt it would be nice to use. any advice appreciated. probably not looking to buy more hardware aside from potentially sending back the AIC for a different model.

thanks!
