Thunderbird doesn't download subfolders

Post Body

I am trying to use Thunderbird with an Exchange account hosted through GoDaddy. I have set this up as an IMAP.

Under Server Settings/Advanced, I have checked "Server supports folders that contain sub-folders and messages."

In the Config Editor, I have set mail.server.default.check_all_folders_for_new to True.

In Account Settings/Synchronization & Storage for this account:

  1. I have checked "Keep messages in all folders for this account on this computer."
  2. I have selected "Synchronize all messages locally regardless of age" under "To save disk space, downloading messages from the server... can be restricted by age or size."
  3. I have selected "Don't delete any messages" under "To recover disk space, old messages can be permanently deleted..."

I have also reviewed the following page:

PROBLEM #1:

I want Thunderbird to download everything from the server to my local computer.

I have several levels deep of folders (maximum 5), so the folder structure looks something like this:

Inbox

Inbox/Level2

Inbox/Level2/Level3

Inbox/Level2/Level3/Level4

Inbox/Level2/Level3/Level4/Level5

etc., etc.

Thunderbird will download all the Level2 folders, but it often doesn't download Level3 or other children folders until I click on its parent folders.

I can see this when I try to move a message in my Inbox by right clicking on it. If I try to navigate to a Level3 folder in the popup menu, it won't appear. It only appears once I go to the sidebar and click on its parent folder.

PROBLEM #2:

I'm still testing this one out (so I'm not quite sure), but I think Thunderbird might be periodically removing Level3 and below folders that I have forced a download for--from the local disk, they're still on the server. I have some Saved Searches stored in my "Local Folders" directory, and these reference Level3 folders. When Thunderbird removes those folders, it breaks my Saved Searches.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
