The Longing
Post Body

How long after your thru-hike or LASH did you feel longing for the trail(s)? Did it ever go away and then come back again?

I did two LASHes to complete the PCT in 2008 an 2009. Since then I've gotten a good job and been saving up for retirement. I've hiked the CDT through all of Glacier NP and the Winds, I've done several section hikes of the PCT, done some hikes of my own design, a rim-to-rim of the Grand Canyon, and lots of over nights and 3-4 day weekends. The longing for another long trail never seems to go away. It subsided for a while but now that I feel like my job is boring, it's back with a vengeance.
