I have always been more of a LASHer, and I’m currently doing a LASH of the Wyoming section of the CDT. I’m kinda feeling over long distance hiking. Being away from my regular life, family, friends, activities, pets etc just to hike all day long alone trying to make my miles. Being 58 and the change of my body is hard too. I don’t really lose any weight and I don’t really get any stronger. I don’t really get hiker hunger. I just slow down. It’s lonely out here. All the young ones crush the miles, form little groups and seem invincible. Guess there’s a time limit on this stuff. Glad I did some in my 40s when I could enjoy my strength. If you are young don’t put it off. My hikes are some of my best memories.
