My hips don't have much mobility in them (like tying-a-shoe-is no-longer-a-thing-I-can-do level of mobility), and I was just diagnosed with what I'm lovingly calling "kneecap OA" in my left knee, degenerative changes in my right, and pseudo gout in both. I've had bloodwork for autoimmune stuff, but nothing's popped - doc thinks the arthritis is due to competitive dance in the early 90s (looking at you, jump splits and knee slams) coupled with lousy genetics (dad = all the arthritis).
As far as treatment plan, it's the usual - ice, some leg lifts to help my left kneecap pain, NSAIDs once in awhile if things get really bad, no hiking, stay away from stairs, etc.
I guess I'm curious about progression, what to expect...Is it just continuing to manage pain with exercise and diet and ice and meds until you eventually get something replaced, and hope for the best? I'm 43, if it matters.
