The Queen's Death and the Disturbing Conservative Response
Post Body

Immediate reactions within Conservative Media circles offer a disturbing, but Obvious, glimpse into their values and beliefs, predominantly their racism (once again).

Now, liberal circles are doing the normal "she was a great monarch" or "respect the dead" bullshit, but Conservative propagandists like Tucker Carlson have gone above and beyond, and have basically sung the praises of the British Empire.

They have said that Britain was a "civilizing" force through its empire-building, and no other nation they conquered could match them in their intellect, architecture, and sophistication. They also say that the British were the gentlest and most soft-handed conquerors.

It should be Obvious that this is an extremely racist and false understanding of the cruelty and brutality of the British Empire (They were a cornerstone of the TransAtlantic Slave Trade for fuck's sake).

However, this is more than just praising white supremacy. This is a perfect example of Fascists showing their love and admiración of other totalitarian regimes. Examples of this attitude can be found EVERYWHERE in the GOP:

  1. Victor Orban of Hungary, a dictator in all but name, being a keynote speaker at CPAC.

  2. Trump praising Putin as a powerful leader despite claiming he would've never invaded Ukraine if he was President.

  3. In the same speech, Trump also praised Xi Jingping for his draconian measures related to drug crime.

As the GOP continues to grow more desperate, their admiración for dictators and oppressors will only grow Louder and more overt.
