This is a friendly reminder that when settlements have to be paid out to the families of victims of police brutality, that money comes out of the city, and NOT the police department. THEIR budget stays intact and continues to grow annually.
Also, cops have a strong tradition of protecting their own when misconduct happens and rarely face any level of accountability.
No-knock warrants are basically state-executions with extra steps. You cannot reasonably stand for "2nd amendment rights" or "my home my castle" mentality and justify heavily-armed, poorly-trained, bloodthirsty and trigger-happy cops barging into a residence with zero warning and expect a surprised resident not to attempt to defend themselves in the micro-seconds it takes these trigger-happy fucks with badges to pump their victims with lead.
Furthermore, police academies have a history of emphasizing predatory behavior inside cops and to weed out anyone who doesn't fall in line with the program.
For all their posturing, Centrists and Corporate democrats haven't done shit beyond optics, to solve the issues of Systemic police brutality.
