This is a friendly reminded that every day that Justice Breyer doesn't retire, is another day potentially closer to a 7-2 Supreme Court on the side of the Republicans.
This is a similar situation as to what happened to RBG.
As Annoying As Liberal judges may be, they're an infinitely superior alternative to Conservative ones. All it takes is for the Democrats to lose either of the Houses of Congress in 2022, and we can Kiss the Supreme Court goodbye. I can damn near guarantee that if that happens, the GOP congress will Block ANY replacements throughout the rest of Biden's term.
Breyer is already 83 years old; It is Highly unlikely he will survive long enough for the dems to regain congress, and that's even IF they ever get it back with how the GOP has supported voter suppression.
EDIT: OH SHIT, NEVER MIND. He just announced his retirement.
