When was the last time you told someone you're a therian?
Post Body

And how did it go?

Most of the people close to me (some close friends, my mum, my aunt), I "came out" to a long time ago and haven't talked about it with them since. Long ago as in 10-20 years ago. A lot of them I told when I was a teen probably assume it was a weird phase I've grown out of.

Time has passed and I have gotten new friends since then. I'm much more subtle with my therianthropy nowadays. Only my kink friends know, because I've written about it on my profile on Darkside (swedish equivalent to Fetlife). So I've never had a proper conversation about it except with a select few. But it's not hidden either.

But a lot of other friends, I hide my therianthropy from them.

I now wonder, what it would be like to tell some of them. Is it even relevant? Would it just be weird to dump that kind of personal info onto someone? I never ask about their personal beliefs or identities anyway. We just hang out and play games, discuss books, that kind of stuff. I'm super open about being bi and heathen, for instance. But not in the "I have to tell you something" way, rather just openly mentioning both male and female exes if we discuss relationships, stuff like that. But therianthropy is so weird, and now I worry people will think that I'm like those kids on tiktok if I say I am one. I don't wear a tail except on Halloween, I'm an adult and I dress pretty normal.

Well, anyway. My question is: when was the last time you told someone you know irl, and how did it go?
