I'm not a therian but i am wondering how you/they are around people that aren't therians but are still close with you and accept you. Like do you walk on all fours the whole time or not and make animal sounds the whole time? Because i can imagine it might be different if the person isn't a therian as well. I really don't know and i am genuinely curious. Please this is not supposed to sound like an act of hate, i just want to clear up prejustices in my head. I also planned to maybe write a story with a therian character, so it would be useful for that as well. For some positive representation and stuff cause i think you deserve it. If that is a bad idea then i will immediately stop though
I have a lot of friends who have no idea that I'm a therian. I act normal when being around other people, for the most part. Even those who know, I don't feel comfortable being "weird" around them. They might have heard me howl or growl when I was a teenager, but I'm adult. I control myself better nowadays.
My sex partners I let my guard down around, so they've seen me walk on all fours, bite/nibble, growl, snarl, whine. It happens sometimes.
The person I am most myself with is my husband, who is also a therian. But even then, it's not like we are completely animal at home all the time. But there is space and acceptance for those small spontaneous animal urges. I lick his face, he purrs next to me, if someone wants to walk on all fours or not talk for a moment, that's fine. We own a lot of plushies of our theriotypes, and so on.
