can you get a different theriotype tail when its not your theriotype?

I wanted to get a raccoon tail because i thought it looked pretty cool, but i realized my theriotype is not a raccoon, is it okay if i still get it even if my theriotype is not a raccoon? (by the way, i wanted just wear it because i think the design is cool not because i “chose“ to be a raccoon therain, ive NEVER chose my theriotype.)

Anyone is allowed to dress up as any animal. Non-therians can wear tails and whatever. A therian can dress up as an animal that isn't their theriotype. A lot of therians dont wear tails or masks. If you want to wear a raccoon tail, why would that be a problem?

Look into the furry fandom if you enjoy costuming. They seem like nice people.
