Didn't realize this until recently, but I think I pinpointed why face masks during the pandemic were causing me such intense emotional distress. I had people telling me that I was just being stubborn/didn't care, but that's absolutely not true. I went out of my way to find masks that didn't cause distress. First, with the kind that had the ridge in the middle and later with a face shield.
The act of anything touching my lips can cause muzzle shifts. This is normally not a problem, but a mask sits inside my muzzle. It is a horrible, disconcerting, awful feeling. One that cannot be ignored, cannot be "dealt with." Until the mask is removed, I have symptoms like agitation, nausea, headaches, and more. Of course, I didn't have this community then either or else the pandemic might have been a bit easier.
Did anyone else experience anything similar?
Wait this makes so much more sense as to why everytime I would wear one I couldn't stop messing with it and getting so lightheaded and irritated.
