So I'm three treatments into a block of six sessions and am need of some guidance from others. I have severe depression and in August it got extremely bad. Up until August I had been managing quite well (I have done a fuck ton of therapy, used various psychedelic practices, exercise and have a strong morning routine) and then it was like the bottom dropped out of nowhere. August/September were the worst it's been in a very long time and maybe ever despite my life being pretty objectively good.
So three weeks ago I started my first Ketamine treatment (1x per week, with 2x per week starting this week). First session was very light. I was in a cute little spaceship and then it was over. In the days afterwards I felt not terribly different. Not better, not worse. The second session was really weird, I was incredibly angry the whole time. I'm trying real hard to not judge the content of the sessions, but the following week was pretty hellish. It was the worst of the worst. Over the weekend I balanced out. Then today was my third session that included a Stellate Ganglion Block to calm my sympathetic nervous system and then the treatment. It doesn't feel like much of anything changed. Post session vibes are pretty up and down, with a lot more time in the down feelings.
I have a midway check in with my psychiatrist on Thursday, but I'd love to hear people's experiences (positive or negative) of how they felt after their first few sessions and/or when they started feeling positive effects (was it like all at once or more gradual increase in positivity/calm). Because right now, I'm down to continue the journey if this is part of it, but I'm also wondering if I'm just part of the group of people this doesn't really work for.
