I take great interest in Reddit as a site that can deliver comedy. While I enjoy a good discussion, I find I post a lot more jokes. However, I find that every time I visit r/funny it seems almost aggressively unfunny. Even excluding the countless meme posts, there are a lot of political messages thinly disguised behind humor, stupid jokes, and pandering. Many others seem to share my sentiments. However, comedy is subjective. Where as in a subreddit like r/politics the content can be judged on how circlejerky or thought provoking it is, that isn't as easy with humor. So, is it fair to judge r/funny as "bad" just because one dislikes the humor?
