Does this data about reddit gold make sense?
Post Body
I'm doing some analysis on reddit gold and I found something that I think is weird. Check out this chart. I collected the data for it from the reddit database dump that's available on Google BigQuery. That data says that in 7/2010, when reddit gold was introduced, only 7 people bought it. It didn't gain any real popularity until about 11/2012, when people started buying it in the thousands per month. I know there was a TIL about reddit not doing well financially which greatly increased the number of purchases of gold, but was it really as low as I'm seeing? It seems wayyy too low to me. Anyone else?
