Morning loveliest
How has your understanding of BDSM and/or D/s evolved and changed over time?
What opinions did you once hold that you have given up?
What was cool that is now boring, what was icky that is now awesome?
I used to look at collars as holding the same symbolic import as wedding rings in terms of exclusivity, level of commitment, etc. Then my monogamous marriage transitioned to polyamorous, and my perspective on marriage and relationships changed significantly, but for some reason I continued to see collars the same way and, since I’ve got no interest in building a harem of submissives who are exclusive to me, I figured it was just something that was off the table entirely. It’s just been in the last year or so that I’ve reexamined and adjusted my outlook and become comfortable with collars in a poly relationship structure.
Going back quite a few years, It also took me a long time to reach the point where I accepted that I could express and experience certain edge play kinks of mine without being a monster or a misogynist.
