What's a kink of yours, and what would its edging equivalent be?

Back Story:

I found an interesting item yesterday while cleaning up the farm. It's a wooden heart, with a heart-shaped hole cut out of one side and a heart-shaped gem stuck to the other, on a very flimsy stick that I assume was intended to be stuck into the ground as a Valentine's Day decoration.

After giving it a couple practice swings, I came to two conclusions: the head of this decoration would make for a great paddle; and the flimsy stick supporting it was strong enough to do some light stinging, but would absolutely snap if it were swung with any real force.

It occurred to me that for my masochistic partners who crave impact play, using something like that would be the spanking equivalent of edging. It would be enough to awaken the sensation and create the desire, but would never provide enough stimulation to bring real satisfaction.

So today I'm pondering other ways one might engage kinky activities with the intent to edge, rather than satisfy.
