I'm a crotchety old man with many opinions, but here are a few:
All breathplay is edge play, including "light choking."
"Top" and "Dom" are not interchangeable.
Dominant Littles and submissive carers are way more common than people think, and I've seen multiple dynamics that failed due to the parties involved not recognizing that's what they were.

I agree. It's also unhelpful because the term should have a valid application: people who pretend to be a given role, but aren't. Like, I have had conversations with people who've told me flat out that they're not a Dom/sub, but say they are because it helps them get laid. I'm skeptical of the efficacy of that strategy, but it's a thing, and would be a valid usage of "fake Dom/sub" if the term weren't so frequently used to mean "any kind of Dom/sub I don't personally like."
