You Are Contractually Obligated To Answer This
Post Body

Right then, you filth dispensers..... A question was posed on our discord yesterday by the ever-annoying u/top_who_likes and is pretty simple....

Contracts, are they absolute, sentimental, or not needed at all?

Have at it. If you want to fight about it, there will be a sign-up sheet above the water fountain at the end of the hall

S&M is illegal in some places. The laws which enabled Operation Spanner to happen are still on the books in the UK, for instance.

Having a signed contract in which you agree to illegal activity with someone is, generally speaking, not a good idea. It won't carry the weight of a signed confession, but it's certainly something that might be admitted as evidence in criminal proceedings.

I don't personally know anyone who was imprisoned for consensual kink, but there was a lot of online talk during the height of the 50SOG craze where people relayed stories of themselves or people they knew being arrested for kink, and contracts being used against them in subsequent proceedings. It's the internet, and I knew none of these people personally, but I'm inclined to believe at least some of them were true.

I like this explanation.
