Is heat necessary to evaporate solvents?
Post Body

If I’m looking at extracting a usually very difficult to extract compound from over the counter medication, and I happen to find a method that involves dissolution in several solvents, then evaporating the solvents one by one until the solute precipitates out, is it necessary to use heat, or can I accomplish the same result at room temperature over a longer period of time? We covered solubility rules a little bit in chem last quarter, but I’m sure there’s more to it I’m not understanding.
