Hello
I am a student and while studying dramatic literature in Spain, I came across a name that, despite the existence of a history about the author in the introduction of the book, I could not find his name anywhere else in Spanish theater books or on the Internet. This author, whose name is "Miguel Ortega Álvarez ", all of his works have been translated by a translator named "Hossein Eghdami" into Persian. In total there are three plays translated from "Miguel Ortega Álvarez " called: "In the Midway of a Scene", "Chess for One Person" and "Before the Beginning"
In order to make the issue clear, it is necessary to provide an introduction about Hossein Eghdami. He was born in 1948 during the Pahlavi era. It is believed that he had socialist tendencies and was a member of a socialist group called "Tudeh". During the Pahlavi era, writers used to present their works as translations of other authors in order to avoid government arrests. This has been very common in the Tudeh party. Unfortunately, Hossein Eghdami was executed by the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1988.
According to the above explanations, it is likely that the works that Hossein Kani published as translations are his own writings and there is no foreign author named "Miguel Ortega Álvarez". However, the lack of sufficient documents and the unavailability of the author makes it difficult to prove this claim.
I would be very grateful if you could confirm or deny the existence of an author named "Miguel Ortega Álvarez", so that we can be sure of the original or translation of the works presented by "Hossein Eghdami".
Here is what "Hossein Eghdami" wrote about "Miguel Ortega Álvarez"
1- in the introduction of the play "Before the Beginning":
The play "Before the Beginning" written by Miguel Ortega Álvarez is a writer and journalist from Barcelona, Spain, who started his career in a humble bindery and never stepped out of this profession. In his own words, his hands and brain always smell of ink and paper, even on Sundays! In addition to this work, two other books of his have been translated into Farsi in the same years by the same translator. Among them: one-way chess and halfway through a stage.
2- in the Introduction of the play "From the Midway of a Scene"
Miguel Ortega Alvarez, the famous Spanish playwright and journalist, was born in 1939 (during World War II) in Zaragoza in a poor but enlightened family. He completed his first education in his hometown and then, due to the scarcity of livelihood, he gave up the regular classical education and studied on his own. At puberty, he went to Madrid in search of money and settled in the capital forever. He started his first job as a binder in a humble bookbinding shop and never left the same line of business again. Typesetter, typewriter, proofreader of printed texts, local news reporter, artistic commentator of daily newspapers, political reporter of first-rate magazines. And finally, according to his own words, the playwright's hands and brain always smell of paper and ink, even on Sundays!
He is one of the writers whose plays have been staged, despite his few works, he has many audiences.
Among his most famous plays, one can mention chess for one person, from the midway of a scene, before the beginning, the plan of a dream, and the song of a swan.
