Interviewing for an Artistic Director…& I have questions…

Post Body

Hi Everyone,

I’ve now been through two rounds of interviews for an artistic Director job. It’s been strange because for the first two rounds they have not allowed me to ask any questions. It’s been more like three hours total of a very long game show lightning round of questions from them to me. I’ve never interviewed for AD job before, but is this…normal…?

Like…is it normal to put someone through questions of life, career, ideas for fundraising, questioning lack of experience, how they establish themselves moving from one end of the country to another they’ve never been in, maybe even asking why they’re “different”, or whatever, and not providing time in two sessions of interviews over zoom to ask questions himself…?

Anyone been through this process and had this happen…?
