First time seeing The Who as a fan on the younger side (33). Pete and Roger were awesome, full of energy and attitude. Sure, they were rough around the edges, but that's to be expected at almost 80 years old and a rock show shouldn't be perfect. Townshend still exudes cool, Daltrey still hits the high notes and swings the mic.
The orchestra was brilliant during the Quadrophenia section of the show but I felt they often drowned out the band and prevented them from truly "rocking out", especially on songs like Pinball Wizard. Won't Get Fooled Again was the highlight of the night for me.
Would have loved to have them play favorites like "I'm Free," "Bargain," and "I Can See for Miles" but with such an immense catalogue you simply can't get everything you want. Plus, a good concert should always leave you wanting more.
To all who were there, what did you think and how did it stack up to past shows?
