I feel like Louis and Violet represent two sides to Clementine's conflicted personality, and, sooner or later, she's gonna have to choose a part of herself to eventually embrace to protect AJ. Sadly, we are likely to choose one to keep and one to let go of, and that choice will change the tone of Clementine's character throughout the rest of the game. This has been a big theme in Clem's story, the choice to stay warm, or remain cold. From Lee and Chuck teaching her what's right vs what she has to do to survive without him, to having to choose her loyalties between a vulnerable, reliable friend in Kenny, a hardened survivalist in Jane, and herself, to Javi, David, Kate, and Gabe showing her that even with family, you will have to make tough choices based on your morals. The dichotomy, I believe is once again presented to her in the form of Louis and Violet. Violet and Louis both appeal to her as good friends and potential love interests, because they each represent a part of who she is and who she became to be able to get to this point. Hardened or Compassionate? In the end, I feel, the choice will be ours.
