Cure question

So if the cure is taken out of your body you age rapidly then die. Does that mean the first bit of blood you lose would be the cure? Stefan was injured twice and lost a ton of blood but the cure was still in him somehow. Does it mean Damon can't ever lose any blood or the cure will be out of him or is it a Stefan situation?
Or is it because it's magic and the blood has to be taken out by someone meaning to take the cure out?
