It sounds odd if english is your mother tongue. Contrary to popular believe there are many other languages & lots of people make an effort to try and learn English despite it not being their first language. I assume you speak and write multiple languages fluently if you’re going to criticise others for trying. You knew what OP meant and yet you still took the time to pick at their attempt.
