I just realized something. I know Bonnie’s gran died protecting mystic falls and all, but it wouldn’t have happened if she and Emily weren’t so dead set on screwing Damon over. I may be remembering things falsely, but they could have just said Damon and Katherine alone can leave the tomb. She died because they had to keep up the spell to let Damon and Stefan out, but if they weren’t trying to screw the guy to begin with then it may have not been an issue. They specifically went in planning to screw Damon over, not that he doesn’t deserve it, but ya.
Edit: Forget part 1. Got my answer in the comments.
Secondly, on the vampires being evil because they feed on humans thing. Now, personally I would likely hate a vampire or maybe all vampires if they sucked my loved ones dry. However, objectively, they are just eating. Like we do to survive. The only thing that really differentiates us from them is that our food doesn’t have our intelligence.
So, I would wonder if you could consider a vampire killing while feeding murder. They need to feed and in some cases can’t resist the feed. So…if you eliminate the emotional aspect is what they do, besides the cruelty, in the name of feeding really evil? Is it any worse than use eating pigs, chickens and the like?
