Upgrade buy quantity max literally worse than buying individually?

So I spent 50k coins to get the research of buying quantity to Max
Enabling max for things costs WAY more than just buying x10. Buying 10x Attack Speed for example costs 415 or with the amount of money I have with max.....costs 900 for x10..
This seems like its not working.
