So it's made obvious by the writers of the show that the Tree house of Horror (gonna abbreviate this to TOF to save time) episodes are not canon, this gives the writers creative freedom to do whatever they want essentially. I'm currently watching Season 6 Episode 3, "Another simpsons clip show" and homer is asked by Marge what his heart truly desires. He then is entranced in a flashback sequence, one of which he remembers holding the "forbidden donut" from a previous TOH episode. If homer remembers this non canon sequence from a canon episode, then does that make the forbidden donut TOH episode canon?
