What's with all the musical numbers in the later seasons?

I'm on season 30 for the first time and it's the episode where Krusty becomes a circus clown and it's like the 3rd episode this season with a musical number lead by a singer who isn't very good at singing.

Is this a thing discussed in the community? Do people like they're doing this. I personally skip them, they're just not good at writing interesting musical pieces and often make voice actors sing in a grating character voice.

This isn't Bob's Burgers or Family Guy (say what you will about the show's quality overall but they've had some great music pieces).
