Sorry if this may have been discussed before (as someone still looking for him for about two weeks).

So when an event boosts a certain type of pokemon, how do we view this as affecting the Ditto rates? Is there any way people have actually been able to find this out, or is it just speculation?

• IE, my view has personally been that in an event like the Earth Day event right now, I technically have a better chance of wandering across a Ditto, because the trash that he might be will spawn less, meaning less false positives. None of his possible spawns are the boosted types, so if I see one I feel like my chances are better that it might be the Ditto I need (not that this has panned out yet).
  
• However, I can see that it could go the other way, where the trash that was going to be him doesn't spawn because it got replaced by one of the boosted spawns (since Ditto himself isn't a boosted type either). So there's actually fewer Ditto out, but it's balanced with fewer wasted catches due to fewer Ditto-potential spawns.

Since he's a "special" spawn I feel like it's hard to be sure either way – for example I've seen a lot of people mention that regionals are spawning much less during the current Earth Day event. But on the other hand, during the Kanto event – even as a semi-casual – I personally came across about ten or fifteen Solrock (a slightly different sort of special spawn than a regular regional) in a relatively small play area, whereas during regular play I'd only ever seen one before that. So it seems like it could really go either way on whether the event affects a spawn like Ditto.

Anyone have any thoughts or data here?

EDIT: Since there will likely never be a normal-boosted event (AKA an event that boosts his type without boosting him specifically as in say a Ditto-boosted event), it would be interesting to see what would happen if he were say a Dragon type, and there were a Dragon-boost event, yet none of his possible spawns were Dragons – would there be more Dittos then due to his type being boosted, or less because the spawns he could be WEREN'T boosted? Kanto event is the closest thing, but it was too broad to tell (and my thought during that event, that random Whismur, etc spawns would then have to be Ditto because why else are they spawning in the Kanto event, never seemed to pan out). I guess we'll never know, but it's interesting.
