Hey everyone! New to the group. Have a question for y’all. So I want to get a tattoo of the phrase “the night is passing, day shall come again” from the silmarillion in the language it was spoken. I’ve reread some of the book and thought about it and I think it must have been said in Sindarin, not Quenya. Thingol had outlawed the use of quenya so the noldor could only use it among themselves. The first part of the phrase was shouted by the elves with men and dwarves present so I think it would have been sindarin. Also the second part was spoken by Hurin as he swung his axe a d I doubt he knew much Quenya if any at all. So the big question: Sindarin or Quenya?
