Mandatory voting opinions?
Post Body

Mandatory voting had been mentioned quite a few times by both Alastair and Rory, with both in favour of it. What is the opinion of folk here on it? Personally I am against it, I haven’t voted once in any election nor referendum and have no intention to unless the political system and those inside it becomes more attractive to me. To me mandatory voting doesn’t solve the root problem of voter apathy - it doesn’t solve my reasons for not voting - rather it just places the blame on the voter (non voter?) and says “there we go problem solved”.

So what does the podcast audience here think?
