I'm assuming any maybes are a no unless you tell me otherwise so let me know if you're definitely wanting to take part, and likewise if I've mistakenly counted you as a participant or you've changed your mind please let me know.

I've copied /u/moonflower's thread from the other year (edited slightly for sense/dates) for this as it's well explained. Here's how it will work:

Closing date for sign up is Friday 18th November. Participants must have a delivery address in the UK (or some means of avoiding overseas postage costs eg amazon). If you want to get started early for whatever reason please let me know and I will match you with a giftee early.

I'm using exactly the same method as previous years, which worked very well - it might look a bit complicated if you haven't done this before, but I have given step by step instructions below - this method was designed so that each person only sends their address to one person, and I don't have a list of names and addresses.

Everyone who wants to participate who is not already listed above in the participants section posts a comment in this thread or messages me, then also sends a message to me with a secret password which they have made up ... after the closing date for the list, everyone is matched with a giftee (will probably be doing this on the 19th/20th) and will be sent the username and secret password of that person ... then you register a disposable anonymous username and send a message directly to your giftee using their secret password, and the giftee sends you their name and address, then you choose a delightful gift for them and dispatch it by reindeer sleigh to arrive before Christmas.

The list of participants will be compiled above, and if you have any concerns about any of the participants knowing your address, you can message me before the 18th November and say please don't give [username] my password.

I think people generally spend between £5 and £15 but it's up to you how much you want to spend.

I know this all looks slightly complicated, so please feel free to ask questions to clarify how it works, and here's a step by step instruction reference:

1) Post a comment in the sign up thread (or in here or message me) to say that you wish to participate (most of you have already done this).

2) Send a message to me by the end of 18th November to give me a secret santa password which you have made up. If you don't send me a password/reply to my messages I'll assume you no longer want to participate.

3) After 18th November (probably 19th/20th), I will send you the username and secret santa password of your Giftee.

4) Register a disposable anonymous username with reddit. Suggestion for username: something like RedLionSanta5376429.

5) Using your anonymous username, send a private message to your Giftee with their secret santa password.

6) Your Giftee will send you their name and address (just address is fine if you don't want to give your real name. If you don't want your reddit username on the package please let your santa know).

7) Send delightful gift to Giftee (I would advise getting proof of postage as royal mail can be a pain).

If you're really struggling I guess you can ask your giftee for their amazon wishlist (this may also work if you don't want anyone at all knowing your address as I believe it is kept private - check the settings). Even if you don't get anything directly off it it might give you a few ideas.
