Edit: New vanilla-ish server is down because of corrupted chunks. Should be back up and running on 11/2/2016
Today is the last day Natum will be up. At midnight EST, I will turn off the server and have it available for world download tomorrow at noon EST.
Also at 1PM * EST, the following will happen:
The server will turn back on with a new map (also custom made).
It will be running Minecraft v.1.10.2
I will list available plugins as well as provide a brief description or, if needed, tutorial. There will not be many, as this is to provide a more vanilla experience than Natum and Spera ever have been.
Rules will change. As the server is going to be less admin-run and almost entirely player-run, unless there are concerns over cheating, there will be almost no admin interactions. PvP will be enabled and RP is still encouraged.
I really hope to see some of you all tomorrow, when the dust has cleared and what's left is not as big and as grandiose as it once was.
Thank you all for sharing the beautiful experience of Natum and Spera with me. You have changed part of my life, and I hope that you leave with fond memories and some friends. If you do not leave, I hope you continue to have fond memories and continue to make friends.
Remember that at the end of the day, this is just a game. There are people on the other side of the screen that are and were directly impacted by the choices you make and have made. This isn't unique to online interactions either. Your choices matter. What you decide to do and not do is huge. You have the chance to make someone happy or make someone sad. Words and actions can change everything.
If you're feeling lost or out of touch with things, you can change that. Smile at someone, say something nice. Have a conversation with a stranger. Get to know the person selling you the bagel behind the counter. Talk to someone on teamspeak when playing Minecraft. Play a board game with your family. They're simple things and might take thirty minutes to an hour of your time, but you're creating a memory (whether for yourself or someone else). You're changing the world, one little thing at a time, and that's something amazing.
It sounds silly. But my goal from The Realms MC was not to write plugins or create maps. My goal was to prove that choices matter. And they do. How you treat other people, how you interact to other people's actions ... they matter. They shape social interactions, they change people's feelings, they can pave the way for enemies or friendships. It's up to you. If there's one thing that you take away from the Realms MC beyond memories and friends, please let it be that. Your choices matter. What you do matters.
Thank you.
