An anonymous citizen of a nation of Natum finds a sign in their town square. It is jumbled together, with bits of additional wood jutting out, nailed to the post to add more space for a flourish of text. A large board proclaims in bold black letters:

Come one Come all, People of Natum!

Gather and have your life improve immeasurably!

The text seems to shrink the further it gets to the right hand side. It would seem the author was too excited to measure how to evenly size the letters on the sign.

Fate has brought us together.

Those who have need and I who have cures!

Has true love evaded your lonely heart?

Have your coffers run dry, with no end in sight?

Does the fate of your nation rest on a single important decision?

Are you eating that bread too quickly, or is foul play cursing you?

Have you gotten sluggish, slow, sullen, or sick and are looking for an answer?

A miracle has appeared to you in the bewitching form of...

A large central board appears with a wide open eye drawn above the following text:

Madame Spell!

The magical old crone from distant lands!

All knowing, all seeing psychic! The Bright-Eyed Medicine Woman and Master Alchemist!

A wise and aged beauty with a youthful complexion! Looks not a day over 75!

Humbly spoken from one of hundreds of satisfied customers, of course!

A crude drawing of a square with some squiggles that could be interpreted as a winking face is nailed to the left of the former text.

Not to mention Elixirs, Lotions, Potions,

Medicines, Oils, Herbs, Poisons,

A Concoction for everything, and everyone, that ails you!

The boards go lower and lower down the sign and the text gets smaller and smaller.

Love Potions! Weight Loss Ointments! Bottles O' Luck! Sleep Aids! Acne Cream! Mushroom Stew!

Heal aches, pains, stab wounds, infected sores, nasty bites, broken bones, and broken hearts!

Take back your youth and vigor!

Take control of your fate!

Run faster, jump higher, fight harder, and aim true!

Vanquish your enemies, impress your friends, and spice up your bedroom!

Cure those inappropriate diseases you wouldn't want your spouse to discover!

Mysticism and trinkets from foreign travels and beyond!

The citizen is squatting now, his eyes squinting in the daylight to make out the scrawled letters in the wood:

Wares for all races, genders, species, even your canine companion!

Protect yourself and your family from bandits, spider infestations, the undead, and cross ex-lovers alike!

Now selling an assortment of rare amulets, items, and charms with ancient power!

All elixirs are all natural, organic, vegan, free-range, low sugar, zero carb, and gluten free!

Your future is in sight! And at reasonable and fair price!

Although the spirits do reward your generosity and the wisdom to use it!

"Generosity" has it's own board dedicated to it, in large letters.

Find me, come and see with your own eyes! Experience with your own mind!

The spirits have blessed me with a humble campsite at the center of Natum, in the brilliant nation of Meridia!

At the very bottom of the sign, touching the ground below it, a final board is nailed into the post. Mud has stained it a bit from splashes, and the citizen wipes it away with his hand.

You will find me south of the grand canal, near the dark and mysterious jungle!

I await your urgent arrival, as there is much on your mind that we must discuss.

A small cloth picks up wind and flutters catching the citizen's attention. It seems newer than the wooden sign that it's nailed to. It reads:

Coming soon!

A Traveling Caravan of Miracles and Curses!

Visiting all Nations and Cities of Natum, big and small!

Bringing Luck and Wisdom to all souls of the land.

The citizen remembers hearing about a friend being paid to put up one of these signs in another nation's market as well. They must be going up all over Natum. They'd heard of the women in rumors around the taverns. Some say she saved their lives, others says she ruined them. The citizen ponders this message and moves about their day, suddenly hyper aware of the pain in their lower back. They think to themselves, "Maybe it's worth a visit, you know, just to see my options and all. Where's the harm in that?"
