How long does it take for someone to try to do a charge back?

I’ve never had it happen but recently I had a guy start a chat on Reddit then went over to my paid account and subscribed. Spent an hour chatting and spent $50 then mid convo deleted his problem and now I’m blocked from his Reddit. I’ve had this happen before and there’s never been a chargeback but now I’m sort of wondering how much time they have to claim it? Has anyone fought it and been successful?
