Hey everyone, I just want to put it out there to beware of scammers during show dates. I put out a post earlier today wondering if anyone had any spare tickets for tonight’s show @ The Independent. I was contacted by a few people, a couple who were obvious scammers, and one that I decided to take a leap of faith on from past experiences that were good. I still went against my better judgment even and sent nearly the full amount they requested.
If they can’t show you a screenshot of the actual Ticketmaster ticket (the live barcode always changes every 15 seconds so you can’t use it to get in without it on the app), or change up the conditions suddenly without prior notice, then it’s most likely a scammer. Trust your gut, in my case I chose to ignore it for a risk. PayPal is always the preferred method under sales and goods. I just didn’t have that as an option this time around.
If you get a message from this person, then recognize they’re a scammer. Fortunately, I still have enough left to put in gas to make it home tonight. I hope everyone enjoys the show tonight and happy new year!!
As of now, they’ve blocked my account. Exercise caution everyone. I hope they suffer a permanent lowered credit score for the rest of their lives.
