I really hope these new Crew fans, who went to their first game and experienced the Championship, saying, "Wow, that was fun, I might buy some tickets next season," truly become lifelong fans. Unfortunately, they were part of the reason many lifelong fans, who supported the team through freezing temperatures and sparse crowds at old Crew Stadium in the 2006-07 seasons when MLS was 'kick ball in the air and head it down' and hope the other team makes a mistake; we feel overlooked.
I guess I chose the wrong year to have a kid and forfeit my season tickets in the offseason. I know this might come across as "woe is me," but I can't help but feel burned. There is no season ticket legacy; if you're not coming back to back, it's like you never really mattered.
How is it that the oldest club in MLS doesn't care or recognize people who gave so much support back when MLS really needed it?
There should be Records going back to 96 with who at least purchaseed season tickets. I know this was before the internet but believe it or not there were things called books and you can write stuff down with pen ink.
There isn't anything I expect Crew to do. It's just a sad realization. The fact we have History and choose to ignore it.
