So I've been thinking about the new trilogy, Rey, and how this all ties in to Mando and Grogu.

I'm sure Dave Filoni is the guy to be able to sort it out and it'll great but I have a bit of a prediction/hope.

The new Rey movie is set 15 years (50ABY, if I'm right) after TROS and it's focussing on an older Rey that is rebuilding the Jedi Order. My hope is she does this by meditating and scrying for force sensatives, and not a holocron that's been done a dozen times.

When she's scrying for force sensitives she detects a very strong connection to the force on Mandalore and goes to investigate.

Given that this is 40 years after season 3, I think Din Djarin will be dead, most likely in the Dave Filoni Mando movie, and Grogu will have become the leader of Mandalore.

Rey will walk in to the 'throne room' and talk to Grogu as leader of the Mandalorians about the force energy she detected and he walks up to here and acts a bit cagey about it, not wanting to play his hand too early just in case she's a threat. Once he has decide she's not a threat he turns away and goes to sit on the throne and she sees the lightsaber on his belt and goes, as only Rey can, 'you're a Jedi!'. At this point he turns to her over his shoulder and goes 'I am not a Jedi, I am a Mandalorian, like my father before me'.

And then the whole cinema erripts with cheers and 'This is the way'.

I think it would be a good way to establish that he's not just going to eventually become a Jedi and he is 100% a Mandalorian, and a good call back to Luke in ROTJ.

I personally really don't want Grogu to just end up being a Jedi later on, I like the direction he's going now Mando with the force and I think this could be a cool way to do that.

I'm sure whatever Dave Filoni comes up with will be great but just my thoughts.

What do you think?

Edit: Found out Dave Filoni isn't directing, but I still hope it's handle in a better way than Grogu just becoming a Jedi.
