I just feel like people who are upset about Joels death are just a bunch of babies

TLDR,Yall just babies I’ve been a fan of The Last of Us Part II since its release, despite the widespread hate it received. The primary criticism seems to be the death of Joel by Abby, who seeks revenge for her father’s death. But when you consider the story within its own world with us in set of actin and consequences, Joel's actions definitely had some severe consequences coming his way. He killed the only chance humanity had for a cure by stopping the surgery on Ellie, which left a trail of devastation and enemies. Abby's father was the surgeon Joel killed, making her quest for revenge understandable.

This isn't just about a random character killing Joel; it’s about the ripple effects of his decisions. Joel’s death was bound to happen because of the lives he affected negatively throughout his life. Either if was going to be the faction of the fireflies or some other group of people, regardless, Joel definitely had it coming. I think The game does something powerful by making you play as both Ellie and Abby.

Initially, we see Ellie's brutal journey for revenge, killing everyone close to Abby. This mirrors Abby's earlier quest for revenge against Joel. As players, we hate Abby at first, but the game gradually reveals her humanity. We witness her growth and realization that revenge only perpetuates a cycle of pain and death. When Abby has Ellie’s girlfriend Dina at knife-point, she chooses to walk away instead of killing her. This moment underscores the game's central theme: revenge is a vicious cycle that leads to more suffering.

Abby's decision to stop seeking revenge is a powerful testament to personal growth and breaking free from the cycle of violence which Ellie refuses to see until the end.

For me, this narrative depth and the emotional journey of both characters make The Last of Us Part II a masterpiece. It challenges players to understand different perspectives and the consequences of revenge, ultimately delivering a poignant message about humanity and forgiveness.
