So i see alot of people here, tiktok, youtube talk about how if they were in the world of avatar they would do all these special types of bending like it was common place
- For a couple things i think people forget when we're watching the show following the Avatars Aang and Korra, in their respective shows so the people around and against them are skilled benders and fighters for the most part, Azula was a child prodigy and toph is probably a ince in a generation bender that created her own bender
being a bender isnt as common as people think, watching the show I would estimate about 60-75% of population shown in the world arent benders and just common people just living their lives,
if we to compare bending to real world, it would be martial arts or even mma (of course each bending style is based on a different type of martial art) so we would assume being proficient bending should takes time skill and effort and even then no matter how hard you train, there are gonna be people at a higher skill level that are naturally gifted. For example Hama was already skilled water bender and it took her years through extreme measures to learn bloodbending
Tldr- i think people forget the skill and effort it took for benders to learn their abilities
