After S5E4 and Lydia/Janine’s discussion in the van as she’s leaving the hospital, Lydia says to Janine, “we can shepherd them together.”
What are the odds that Janine’s character arc shifts towards her becoming an Aunt? It never shows her getting a fertility check when she’s at the hospital, so maybe in episodes to come, we will see she’s no longer able to conceive, and so Lydia “nominates” her to become an Aunt to atone for sending her to the Colonies once before.
What do you all think? Personally, I’d love to see Janine play out a more corporal role in the world of Gilead— but it COULD also be her character taking over for Lydia’s redemption arc in TT.
