I've been thinking about the scene where Moira goes to a gay bar and meets a girl there, hooks up with her, but refuses reciprocation when the woman she meets offers.
It makes me wonder... was Moira subjected to the same kind of FGM that Emily endured? It seems like the most likely scenario to me.
