(Early spoilers I guess?)
Not sure if this has been asked before, but I haven’t seen it discussed anywhere and it’s been eating me up inside. Love this show and all but does it irk anyone else every time they say ‘Jianyu’? It’s a completely mangled pronunciation of his name and not in the way where you can tell that people are trying when it comes to Asian names. It’s almost like an over the top mispronunciation. At first I thought it was because, well, they’re in The Bad Place, but it doesn’t seem that way. It’s just baffling that a relatively big and popular show won’t use the right pronunciation.
