I have a lot of clothes which I very gratefully received as gifts. They’re very pretty and I love them so much but I just can’t bring myself to wear them. I just wear the same old jeans and some odd top. I want to wear dresses and skirts but I just don’t feel confident. Growing up my mother always taught me to dress modestly because of my figure. I didn’t understand, but when I started to get catcalled I understood. I’m slim, my chest is a decent size and my behind is kinda on the big side. I’d love to wear pretty clothes but I feel so insecure and afraid whenever I go out because I don’t like attention. How do I gain confidence to stand my ground when someone comments on what I wear? How do I wear more vibrant and fitting clothes for my age and figure instead of hiding? Is it possible to do both? Sorry if I sound dumb, I just want a little advice as I’m starting university this year and it’ll be my first time in my life not wearing school uniforms. I’m a little clueless with fashion lol.
Edit: I don’t wear jewelry for religious reasons. I also live in the Caribbean so no pretty coats :(
