Got past page 100 of WoC. No idea how this will end. Heres my expectations.
0) Black Calder will wreck Rikke, thanks to support from Bayaz. Bayaz himself will find a way to make the ants pay for disobedience. House of the Maker is involved somehow. I am pumped.
1) Clover will betray Rikke, ofc. Probably Downside splitting either The Nail or Shivers (you live by the sword, you die by the sword, eh?) open in the process. I will cry.
2) Orso will hang. I will cry.
3) Vick will become the new Glokta. Cool.
4) Savine becomes a full on villain. Probaly as a result of something terrible happening to her kiddos. These are rough times, you know. Cool (her becoming a villain, not kiddos dying, lol).
5) Leo will probably just become a puppet in some way, for the most cunning master. I dont care much about him to think here.
6) Gunnar will be Gunnar.
7) Ultimately this is the downfall of the Union though, and that was the ''arc'' of the series. Empire is making a comeback, and it is the dawn of the age of Styria. Oh, and Pike will surely not be the ultimate mastermind behind this. I am sceptical of the theory that Khalul was somehow behind all this though. Glokta seems waaay more likely.
2 notes so far:
Am I the only one who found it strange Yoru Sulfur just not laying the law on everyone in the Assembly meeting from which he was escorted out of? His power level totally allowed him to...
I am excited to see how Bayaz will come out victorious as he always does. Actually rooting for my favorite villain of all time. Although Rikke is my fave protagonist in the series, reallistically, I can see how she has to go. I can totes get behind the theory that she has recently been bluffing about her ''visions'' after the ritual.
I will come back to this post once I am done with the book and check if I got anything right.
