Is it ok to read The Heroes without reading any of the first law books?

Post Body
I picked this up today on my kindle because Iām looking for a new book to read after finishing the last Song of Ice and Fire book (amazing series) and heard that this book is excellent for someone who still has medieval fantasy still on their mind. However, am I going to be insanely confused reading this book without reading the first books in the series or is it the type of standalone that I can just read and enjoy, and maybe watch a YouTube lore video or two for good measure. Thanks in advance!
