Late to the party. Last Argument of Kings was one of the best books I've read in my life, and the best fantasy book I've ever read

Post Body

I listened to the first two books on audiobook about two years ago. I found them a little lacking plot-wise, so I didn't continue

I recently started LaOK and about halfway through the audiobook, I was loving it so much that I bought a physical copy and finished it. I'm glad I did, and I feel like I did myself a disservice by not reading the first two. Such incredible characters, and as an aspiring writer this is the kind of book that makes those dreams feel so small

Just to add some opinions to my incoherent thoughts: I liked all of the POV characters, but Jezal and Glokta were my favorite. I cried when Ardee and Glokta got together. The side characters were a little flat to me, with a couple standouts. Logen's duel scene was one of the most incredibly tense and vivid battle scenes I've ever read. In general I didn't care for the North plotline as much as the others

Excited to move onto BSC, but I will probably reread the first two before starting the Age of Madness trilogy
